I received the Boker Applegate Folding Dagger (AF-FD) yesterday. Once again I was blown away by the obvious quality and attention to detail that went into the manufacture of this knife. Also the fit/finish is excellent! Most of what I have to say is from a first impression pov, as I've not had time to do anything with the knife...yet.

FIT/FINISH-

First thing I check for is if the blade is centered between the handles when closed, and the AF-FD has a centered blade. I turned it around in my hand to look for any imperfections in the finish, or for any rough places that are there due to it not being finished correctly. There are none, as everything is perfect. Next I open the blade to check it for any marks or scratches, Again none, just a perfectly finished blade with even grinds, and a very nice needle point. A+

LOCK UP

Opening the blade slow or fast results in the locking liner hitting the exact same spot on the blade tang. The spot it hits is to the left side, leaving a nice bit of room for any wear that will occur over time. The locking liner is nicely stiff, and takes a little pressure to disengage, which is exactly how I want it to be. There is no blade play horizontally or vertically, this blade is tight. The opening is accomplished with flippers and no thumb disc, or studs. It is no problem to open this way, even after I tightened it up to my desired tightness, and brother, I like it TIGHT! The blade tang is designed so that there is a portion of the blade tang that lies on top of the lock bar when opened, keeping the liner itself from being pushed up and causing it to disengage due to hand pressure. A+

SPECS.

This is a big knife, but it is flat and not really thick, though it might look that way.

BLADE MATERIAL- S60V steel
BLADE LENGTH- 4.0"
HANDLE LENGTH- 5.50"
OVERALL LENGTH- 9.50"
BLADE THICKNESS- .157" or 5/32"
HANDLE THICKNESS- .5.30" or a smidge over 1/2"
BLADE WASHERS- Phospher Bronze
WEIGHT- 6.4 ounces
HANDLE MATERIAL- 6062 Aluminum, anodized gray
LINER LOCK- Stainless steel @ .060" thick or 1.5mm, and inlet into the handle

All I can think of at the moment.

This knife feels really good in my hand and is easy to manipulate. The pocket clip is able to me mounted tip up right and left, and tip down right. I have it set as tip up right hand side. There is a glass breaker in the very end of the handle. When in my pocket, due to the foldover clip, only a very small amount of the handle is seen, maybe a 1/4" give or take. I am really glad I went ahead and purchased this knife, after looking at it for a couple years!:D Once again Boker has come through for me.:thumbup::) Oh yeah, A+ for the whole package
