extremely sharp toothy edge

I recently sent my 375 Adamas into Benchmade to have them edge the spine serrations, they sharpened the blade as well and I am completely blown away by just how extremely screaming sharp it is, like a toothy razor sharp and I would like to be able to sharpen my own knives like this..would a set of Arkansas stones be able to accomplish this? I'm looking at the EZ hone stone set, 4 Arkansas Stones from Course stone up to the black extra fine stone. Curious if anyone uses these or Arkansas stones?

Factory edges are ground on 120-220 grit belts and de-burred, simple but effective process. The down side is it removes a lot of metal and will shorten the life of the knife.

It's not really that easy to replicate on stones and for the average knife user power sharpening is never my recommendation. Can't say I would recommend Arkansas stones on D2, it would not be a very good choice for such a wear resistant steel.

A Coarse DMT plate and some 1 micron diamond compound on a balsa strop will yield a very nice toothy polished edge and would be my recommendation.

That's the other option I am ready to make a decision on, diamond plates...I'm going to get a KME or Edge Pro later on but for now I need something to get my S30V Yojimbo 2 sharpened, I'm looking at a combo 600/1800 grit Hewitt diamond plate with some fine micron diamond lapping film...shouldn't be too difficult to sharpen the straight Wharncliff Yojimbo?

I am currently using an Ultra Sharp Diamond plate 400/1000 grit for all my wear resistant steels, you can find them at Best Sharpening Stones and I would highly recommend it. Add some 1 micron DMT paste and you will be on your way to sharp and toothy.

I accomplish something similar by sharpening on 400 grit edge pro stones, then a few strokes with 2000 grit sandpaper to buff the edge slightly. Splices hair but is still toothy for rope and zip ties

awesome! what materials should I use to put the DMT paste on? And do you stroke the knife against the paste like you do on the diamond stones? Or do you strop backwards on the paste like you would on a leather strop?
