I don't know about the quality of the steel, heat treat, weight, spine thickness, blade profile, etc., but some are sure nice to look at. Some of the gold and silver inlays are just plain beautiful...

Taking a look at all of them, you kind of acquire an eye for the "made in India" khukuries... ;) :)

Guys...*No* active links to competitors...please.

Its that cheap mass production damascus Dan, think of 300 {or whatever} spark plug feeler gauges heated red hot & walloped once by a 200 ton drop hammmer.

You can buy it in India for peanuts or on ebay for lots of dollars.

Sorry about the direct link...

Ancient Arms has a lot ( ) of blades with really fancy handles and sheaths, and I kind of surmised that the steel was junk. They'd make some nice wallhangers if you needed something unusual for a room with orientsal decor. ;)

Dan, you should pick one out and let me pay for it! I seem to recall an 18" and approx. 22 oz. Sher Special Hanshee with neem (?) wood handle that I missed a year or two ago, that I believe went to Italy.

I think we could work something out... ;) :D
