Sometimes I'll do a search and browse pictures from the old DOTD threads.

I'll type in a particular model and see what I can drool over.

This is one of my favorites. 18" Bura Tin Chirra with walnut handle.

What are some of your favorites from the past?

I have always wanted an HI stick knife. I don't have a pic of one, but it was sort of like the hasiya on steroids. I'd still like to pick one of those up again.

I have also had a hankering for a 14" Trisul. The 18" versions are great, and I certainly might cave and shark one the next time I see one come up, but the 14" version was just so perfect in size. Somewhere, there is one being made for me:D

I can't search, but there are MANY great khukuris to look at. There was a truly wicked chitlangi on here a while back that found it's way to my trembling hands. The middle of he blade was wide but it narrowed sharply towards the tip and had an almost triangular shape to it. Fantastically scary.

Of all the special runs Ms Yangdu has offered , this one really caught my eye:

If she had one available right now, about 25" long and without the copper inlay on the the blade, I'd buy it immediately.

It's just too good. I just sent an email inquiring about one.

You just HAD to say that, didn't you?
I'd like one as well, but with the less ornate falcata handle.

I like the handle. That's what attracted me to it.

On H.I.'s other falcata, the hook style handle seems proportionately too long; it shoulf fit the hand rather snugly.

But THIS, this is a magnificent modern interpretation of the falcata/kopis style swords of the ancient world.

The only thing I don't like is that copper inlay.

True about the handle, I don't know how long the ones on the falcata are, but my palm is almost 4.5" wide, so what's too big for a lot of people is just right for me.

I don't mind the ornate handle, don't get me wrong, but I like the falcata style of the pommel area curving forward to partially enclose the hand like the hilt does. Maybe add an exteneded "beard" to the lion to accomplish this?
And yes, I really dislike the copper inlay. If it has a particular significance, I could accept it, but it would not be my preference. Although it's not like we're going to go out getting in sword fights with the thing. . .
