I know someone just posted on this, but I can't remember what was recommended...

The old welders sheild we have is toast...What's the best thing to replace it with? We have started to do a lot of forging and I want to do this right...

Sources? We are looking for a full face sheild because both Dell and I wear glasses...

Thanks!

Hello Running Dog,

Try Lab Safety Supply http://www.labsafety.com/commerce/default.asp

I bought all my face shields, resperators and aprons there. They are great to deal with and the technical phone operators really know what they are talking about and make good recommendations on equipment.

The face shields and welding shields are here... http://www.labsafety.com/commerce/dept.asp?dept%5Fid=55

Hope this helps.

Take care,
Tom

Most welding supply shops carry full face clear shields and the headgear to wear them.

Thanks for the replys...

Maybe I asked the wrong question...

What kind of filter works best with UV and IR radiation from forging?

Is there something better than just a green welding filter? I though they were not the best for IR...Is that right?
