Some of you may have seen the thread I posted about the bk 9 I intended to mod. Well, Thrillbilly spoke up and said he wanted to see pics of the de-ramp. I thought since I had I knife of his I made that I haven't had a chance to send out yet due to some out of town travels, id kill two birds with one stone. Here they are Thrill. So no in action pics. I was alone in the shop! Also, thanks to Irish girl who is graciously waiting for her red wrapped warnie that I'm also sending to Thrill for kydex. They will be in the mail Monday!

What did you use to take the ramp off? Was it ground with a belt? Been thinking about doing that to my 9 but most likely will buy a 7 and do it, saw a pic once of a 7 without ramp and looked righteous.
 
Fancy, believe it or not folks that's the first I've seen of the BK9 since I stripped it.

I Lovingly removed it with a belt sander. Don't want to build up too much heat!

Its true folks. For those of you that has been following it I know I said I was gonna let Murph handle this whole mod. But I just couldn't help myself. I had to get my hands on it. Murphs 1 to 2 days a week at my shop leaves a long time for things to set for me to look at it. Fear not! There's a lot of stuff to do ole buddy!
 
That 9 came out nice! I really like the looks of the 9 deramped. I need to pick up another one at some point.

Cool, I personally like the thumb ramp but the jimping you did is actually pretty neat and nicely finnished, nice work.
 
i like how the 9 came out and the jimping loks good. also like the little ones to there interesting
 
Those wharnie blades are great! After having a Leek, I've really started to see the usefulness of a straight blade. Now I'm on the prowl for a wharncliffe style blade to add.

You guys are slowly convincing me to take the ramp off my 9, too.

The 9 looks top notch! The jimping is nice and clean. I like it! I'm also falling for those little warnies.

Ok, ok.... When things aren't so crazy here, I might have to run up to bug you sometime. Maybe I'll have to bring my 9 up with me to play some.
