i finally found some good eyelets. i got them from sheffields, and their setter. The eyelet ends arent split, and with the right setter, then just roll over nice and smooth. now I just gotta find some that have a larger hole in them, the ones i got have a 1/8" hole, but its too small for a chicago screw or paracord to pass thru.

This is where I get my eyelets from also. The eyelets are brass and they can be darkened by rinsing in Selenious acid (which is in some cold gun blueing) for 10 to 15 seconds. Rinse and neutralize.
Sizes are measured in 32nds so you can get almost exactly what you want.

Where would be a good place to get the tools to set the eyelets. Preferably the hand tool type. When I called Fastener Supply they did not sell the hand tool type.

Mahalo,
Jon

Call Sheffields and ask about their snap setter. I have one that was made for the leather snaps, but it works for eyelets, there are like 1 or 2 diff buttons, 1 bar with 3 settings, and IIRC, 5 different things you hit.
