1st Sebenza- I'll be seriously shopping next week.
I know I want a large, will it be a 21 or 25, I'm pretty sure I want a carbon fiber scale.
I have large hands, I'm happy with the size of a 25, thats the only one I have actually had in my hand.

Should I look at something different? Any input?

Chad

I Say go for the 25. If thats the only model youve held, i think you would find the 21 a little less stout. An Umnumzaan is a good choice as well. Carbon fiber or ti is almost a toss up for me...id choose a plain ol titanium scale one.

I have large hands, the '25 feels smaller than the '21. I'm pretty sure that the Sebenza 21's handle slabs are wider so it fills my hand better and feels more secure.

If you want the most hand filling Sebenza, try an inlaid large '21. There's a dealer exclusive with CF inlays, mine was worth the wait:

Great looking Sebby Matthew. Which inlayed Seb 21 do you think provides a better grip, CF or micarta?

The micarta version, but it has nothing to do with the inlays - the micarta inlaid Sebenzas have bead blasted titanium handle slabs, while the CF inlaid version has polished handles making it feel slicker. The bead blasting makes the whole handle feel rougher, even the micarta is bead blasted. Don't get me wrong, both are plenty secure in my hand and I rotate both as daily users. The blocky CF inlays provide plenty of security in spite of the smooth faced handles. I also like the way both wear, tiny scratches in the polished CF inlaid knife or snail trails in the bead blasted micarta inlaid version.

I only own a large 21 with insingo blade and regular ol' titanium scales but it fits my large hands perfectly and doesn't slip around at all. That said, I've been eyeballing the large CF 25 from KA, lighter weight and seriously good looking!

The only other one to consider is a Wilson Combat Sebenza, it has the star pattern on the handles and gives more grip. The larges are comparable in size/width

The inlayed, looks cool, but seems as carbon fiber is kind of just for looks, grip, not a weight issue, maybe overkill, cant make that much of a weight difference as an inlay...?
If weight is a concern, a whole carbon fiber scale would make a difference....

I just cant decide on the 21 or 25....

^^^ good news, you can't go wrong with either^^^ plus your going to end up buying both anyway :o so you can judge, compare, review, and then argue ;)

5.2 oz. for regular 25 and 4.0 oz. for CF variant--significant difference in weight, perhaps less significant in every day usability. One thing I appreciate very much about the 21 is how you just put it back together after cleaning with no loctite, and you tighten every screw down until the allen key flexes just a tiny bit then your knife is back at exactly where it's meant to be. Not that the 25 isn't extremely well built, I just find this an attractive plus for the 21.

I do like that about the 21- easy take down and cleaning, a big plus

Honestly the 25 shouldn't be anymore difficult to take down or assemble except the added loctite requirement. After all it does have less parts total because it's missing the lanyard pin and pivot bushing. I guess for me at least there's just something exceptional about a knife you don't need to adjust in any way every time you assemble it.

If you like how the 25 opens, stay with it.
The blade is very nice and the CF scale makes it carry-able.

I have large 21 Insingo and a 25. If I could only have one I would keep the 25. Sure it's a little harder to takedown but after the first takedown of the 25 it's like riding a bike. Main reason I would choose the 25 is the blade. The blade on the 25 is terrific.

I remember asking the same question about which knife to get when I started buying CRK's 6 years ago.

My question was which to buy a large 21 or a Zaan. I bought a new Zaan with the old pivot.

You'll be buying other CRK's. The first is always special IMO. Enjoy whatever you buy!!
