These guys are making a difference. The nice thing is, once the program is seeded, it supports itself and replicates in other areas. If you can spare a dollar or two, a great way to help make a difference yourself. There are real horror stories coming from these sheriffs along the border and very little support from the states and none from the feds. Chech it out at http://www.eyesontheborder.com/

Look at this map. Can be anywhere from 20-30 miles to 100. Most make their way to I-10 for drop off. But can be anywhere in between. The Rio Grande is vey shallow at some points. The drug cartels actually placed rocks in the river to cross without getting stuck. The sheriffs would tear it up and the next day they would build it even better. They actually brought in a track hoe and dug out the river to 90 feet! They came back and it was fixed within a few days. The Mexican military is providing security for the drug cartels. The mexican and US government deny it, but the sheriffs have gone up against them and know for sure it is the military. They have tough job. Some areas have a ratio of 1000 square miles to each deputy. The planes will help tremendously as they NO air support at this time. Nuevo Laredo has become the Wild West with shootouts, kidnappings being routine.

Wow. What are we going to do. Or, more like, when?
