So I've had my F1 for over 3 years now and has acompanied me flawlessly responding to my every need except sex and tax paying.
I've only sharpened it twice with diamond powder thingy, and I sucked as hard as a black hole. I messed it up just barely and it still cut paper easily after going through x number of logs and cutting some hundreds of fruits, rope, etc.

Here's the not so bad result of three years of mild use:

but, you know it was time to give it some decent treat. I decided to have it sharpened and regrinded. It's now a bit smaller by 1.3mm or so, but in the pictures looks much smaller because of the cellphone camera lens.

Neddless to say it's a bitch now. It's sharp. Sharp.

It now has a slight recurve. And you can call me shitty because yeah, that's a shoelace bit used as a lanyard. But hey it has saved the knife and probably my leg many times because it's just perfectly fitted to my finger so when it falls I can simply flick it back to my hand.

here are the results:

Comparisson with the also sharpened Boker + Whale.

Mirror finish on the edge which is very unapreciated in the images.

Some of the scratches are still there, I told him not to worry as they will abound again.

what do you think?

You’ll never be able to sell that knife for anything close to what you paid for it.

Oh, wait, you actually USE it.

What a concept.

Way to go.

what do you think?

If you find a v-grid easier to maintain than a convex grind, I think you are "golden." You got a great knife, that you like to use, in a setup that you can maintain.

What more can anybody ask for? Enjoy!

Yeah thanks to all but I find strange not to use it! Even my most collectibles will be used, maybe there will be one knive I don't ever use, but as for now I might as well enjoy the full spectrum of what it can do.

I really liked the convex grind but as you say A it's easier to mantain and B, this won't be splitting wood very often and I'll find better use for this kind of grind.
I find that there are better ways to split logs, and the knife is beeter use for shaving timber and lots of other stuff much more suited.

In the event of needing to baton, it will hold up no doubt.

What this knife does great is being right for most tasks.

To all of you that will own one, use it and care not.
