Got a question about value (if any) and general info about a knife I have. It is a 14" overall length bowie with the number 48 stamped on the right side and Original Buffalo Skinner also on the right side (3/16" size letters in german script). The left side of the blade has "F.A.Bower Imp CO." on the top line, then under that is Solingen, then under that is Made In Germany. The blade has filed notches on the top of the blade and has a brass single guard about an eigth inch thick, stag grips with red, white, red, white, and red spacers both on the front and the rear of the handle. It has a alum. butt attached with a single brass pin. All I know about it is that is was taken from a bad guy in Douglas Wy by a cop in about 1948-1950's. It has been in his family ever since. The main thing I would like to know is does it have any collector value? Thanks, terryl@daltontel.net
