F&F on Blue Para 2?

Just got a new para 2 in not too long ago, and the ball detent literally just fell out. But I'm not too worried, because the blade seems to come out smoother and it still takes a decent shake to get it out. However (and this issue existed before the detent came out), this is my first para 2. So I don't know if the opening is supposed to "sound" gritty. It's almost as if they forgot to put the bronze bushings in there and it's scratching against G10. However, this is def. not the case. Any of you having the same issues with the para? Structurally, the knife is sound, and I don't have enough complaints to want to send it in.
 
Don't short change yourself and send it in. 5 Para 2s and all have been like glass. This is not by any means the "Norm".
 
I will echo what others have stated. Normally I would say oil it up and see it that helps after a while of cycling it open and close. If the detent ball fell right out there is definitely an issue.
 
Yea, probably going to send it in tomorrow. Sucks, who knows how long it will take to get it back with shot going on and all
 
You should just exchange it with the seller
 
Yea, I'd be surprised if Bento even has any left in stock. On top of that defect knives don't sell very well =)
 
When you send it in, besides the detent ball, be sure to tell them about the gritty pivot and ask them to clean it up for you.
 
You are not the first person to report the detent ball falling out of this 2nd batch of Smurf Para2s... it seems Spyderco has a problem in production. :( Definitely contact them and send it it. (BTW, somewhere on her or the Spyderco Forum there is a thread about this in which Sal chimed in... can't seem to find it now though).
