Hello Everyone,
Can somebody tell me with accuracy when finger grooves first appeared in buck 110?
TYVM,
Michael

I seem to recall the FG 110s starting with the 4 dots in the early 1980s.
I have an early 4 dot with the non-radius thumb press from the 1982-1983 era in FG.

It showed up on the 112 just previous to that on the 3 dots about 1981.

Thank you Stumps I collect only 110's and wanted to find out because I have a couple 4 dots and haven't seen any three dots with Finger Grooves. My EDC is a mirror polish 4 dot Finger Groove. If anyone has seen a Buck Manufactured Finger Groove 3 Dot please let me know. I believe Stumps is correct, I heard 1983 was the first year but want to make sure. Thanks Again Stumps, Michael

3 dots with finger grooves exist. I believe Larry O. has one. Thinking further on it that is a 112's. Finger grooved appeared on the 112's first before on the 110's. DM

Anyone have pictures of the older FG 110s?

I can come close for now....

The 4 dots were the first of the 110s to have finger grooves.
This isn't the first of the 4 dot 110s with finger grooves, but was the second.
This one is actually harder to find with the radius thumb press.
The squared thumb press 110 was the first to have finger grooves.
I have one, but didn't dig it out for pictures when this one will do.

Below is the first of the finger grooves on the 112. These came before the 11os had finger grooves.

Way to go Stumps. I think I have both the 112 and 110 with finger grooves in my collection without the thumb depressed radiused. I'll have to dig it out. DM

Thank you for posting rather excellent pictures, Stumps!

I'm in the middle of back-n-forth emails with a seller of an anniversary 110 (2014) and this topic is, at least for me, timely.

David, I'd enjoy seeing your FG(s).

Cheers!
