  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Unfortunately I do not recognize any of the stamp though.
I think the one A A17 Is remembering is one I have that is stamped
M. H. CO. 08
Nearest I can figure out that was an abbreviation Marshal Wells Hardware used.
But I'm drawing a blank on F.H. Co.

I love these mysteries!

I did some digging earlier today chasing the American Fork & Hoe Co ( A F & H Co) idea and never found a stamp that supported a connection to this axe. All of them stamped the name written out and not just the initials.

The "5" stamp to the right screams of American Axe Tool Co with them stamping the original plant they made the axe but 1) their numbers were smaller and in a circle and 2) "5" was Underhill in Nashua NH, so the writing on the bottom doesn't make sense.

It's obviously presents as being late 1800- early 1900. The lettering sure looks American.

More picture would help. Profile and eye pics could help date imencesly. And narrow down things like country of origin (if my 'lettering sure looks American' is wrong).
