I know what I want, but not sure of the exact design. I want a full cover leather sheath for my F2, maybe with a nice fold over flap like the old Buck sheaths. But, the kicker is I don't want a snap. Any ideas?

When you figure it out make sure you send me a pic!

Make the tongue of the flap longer, incorporate a leather strap across the top and run the tongue through the strap. Use rare earth magnets in the flap and sheath body. Sam Browne stud in the body and hole in the flap. You guys got'em all the first time! Bet there's another way, too.

This is the sheath that I use for my Kephart.

MajorD, I had one of those and didn't really care for it. Actually just sold it with a knife.

Whitty, I commissioned Mr. Lowe to make a flap sheath for me. I will post pics when it arrives.

My suggestion is kydex :) My F2 is so needle sharp the tip slid right through a JRE leather sheath into my finger... not bad, but enough to make me pay more attention the next time :D

Haha. I can't get away from leather with a dedicated hunting knife.

Lol, then don't go cheap with thin leather :) and reinforcement at the tip wouldn't be a bad idea. Give yourself some time to feel the resistance before it comes out the side ;)

I hear ya though, I am getting back into leather more and more, and now I seriously want a 5/32 tapered F2 for a dedicated small game knife...though this 3/32 is more than fine, I am just hung up on the 5/32 :)

I hear ya. I am gonna have to be careful when I first get it. Once it's broken in and the F2 slips into it's sweet spot I should be fine.

Whats your F2 look like?

Geez Mist, you've almost got me doubting my abilities:D Generally, when the tip is lower than the handle and straight, there shouldn't be any problem. What's scary and tough is a long, thin filet knife that has the upswept point.

Lol, I'm sure you'll do fine man, My Kephart sheath has no holes in it :) Yep, that's exactly what it is. I just stuck the knife in just like I have my Hiking Buddy and Raptor, and the next thing I knew I had about an eighth inch of O-1 in my finger...never even felt it hit the leather...
