I noticed the new F5.5 full titanium elmax video pre-order ad on insta, with too early lockup (wtf) and messed up plunge grind (actually many production blades have the same issue and poser buyers doht even realize it - they only carry and never - for several good reasons - give their valuable new knife a full resharpening until they flip it).

I would never buy the F5.5 because of these two exfactory mistakes. Apart from being too bulky and heavy for my taste (121.15omfg).

So how have you been doing with the knife? How often have you given it a full sharpening? Let's hear it from owners and ex-owners.

I searched B\F and found tons of sales threads (F5.5 not a keeper?), this is literally the only non-sales thread on the topic of F5.5, so i didn't want to open a new thread to discuss the model and mods.

I wouldn't buy but i am still interested in a fair critical discussion because i like VOX designs and this is a discussion forum.

My next new knife acquisition will come from a local online dealer, also a VOX design. If the knife doesn't meet my quality requirements (lockup, plunge grind, action), and i will tell within 1 minute of inspection, I'll return the product for a full refund. The package actually comes with a prepaid return shipping label in case of dissatisfaction. 2 weeks of keeping allowed (legal right) before returning.

The F5.5 is a different tier. No local national retailer available in me county. No easy international returns. I once bought from urban and there were problems (and resolved), but that's OT.

so sadly i sold it, and i can tell you right now its a huge regret of mine. I had the m390 micarta version my only gripe about the knife was between the liner and scale your finger had a little pinch point. I never did end up sharpening it just because it ended up not getting carried. I forget the exact reason i stopped but i can say it was smooth and loved the blade design and overall ergos of the knife. The knife wasnt heavy as others for example i had a mini adamas for maybe a day and got rid of it cause that sucker was heavy. I mean all and all i did really enjoy the knife and it just cut really well and felt solid when cutting.
