Finally got my scales in from TKC today. I decided to settle on the ranger green. So first thing first I had to get rid of the old coating since it had seen its share of hard work.

I noticed some strange markings under the coating not really sure what it was

Next was to try my hand at cold bluing for the first time. I ended up doing 4 coats and I'm pretty happy with the coloring, could of been a little darker but I can always darken it up with some more coats later. One thing I couldn't seem to figure out was how to get that ages look that others have gotten on their knives. And finally added the scales, an I have to say I really liked the izula scales but these new handles fit in my hand perfectly. I really like how they are thinner toward the ricasso, but widen up towards the back as well as extending over the ring in the back to really fill out your palm.

All in all these scales have completely changed the feel of the knife and even though it was already my most loved and used knife I have to say that I have fallen even more in love with my eskabar. I deffinetly urge anyone who wants a bigger feel for their 14 to consider picking some of these up. Soon as I get my 10 I'll be grabbing some more!!! And thanks to Uncle E for this great knife design as well as the knife connection for the stellar scales.

Nice work. Scales sure do make the 14 feel different, for sure.

Nice work with the cold blue process. The scales add an exceptional look to the knife.
