Some of the kit blades from TKS, if not from Bear MCG, they are dead ringers. Some of their blades look like they may be made by Muella (of Spain) but I cant' be sure. Give Texas Knifemaker's Supply a call at 888-461-8632 and ask.
Quite a few of their folder kits are some of the standard trappers, canoes, and what not are similar to what quite a few of the "big name" productions sell.
Ironically, most of the knife supply houses supply a better quality kit blade than is supplied by a number of the larger production companies. Not too many of the production folks supply blades of ATS34 or 440C unless you are referring to Spyderco or Benchmade.
Knifemakers, generally speaking, shy away from kit blades due to "sole authorship", quality and pride of workmanship. When I first started, I was a "knife-builder" and made a few knives out of kit blades. That just lit the fire and now I grind my own blades due to the reasons above. If I built a knife today that someone else ground, I would have trouble putting my name on it, however, it is a very good way to start.
