I was checking out ebay this morning and a seller claimed he had a 112 with a450 blade that was a factory buildout , has anyone heard of this combination from the factory?

Thanks Oregon, I thought it looked familiar now I know why I also found a thread about it on the club website I wonder if Plumber Dave ever got any more info on it?

I've not heard back from Joe about it. He said he would look in to it and e-mail me, but so far, nothing.

If he has, he has not said so. (EDIT: I see he got a post in ahead of me.)

That seller seems reliable. Seems as though there may be buildouts that many of us never hear anything about unless we happen to catch them on e-Bay.

Sounds likely that they were using up leftover 450 blades, so we've probably seen the last of that particular FrankenKnife.......unless some lost blades turn up later.

It is a real attractive knife, though.......it seems like there would be a market for a 112 with a drop point. Maybe that's a future possibility.

There IS a current production Paperstone Ranger with a 450 blade of 12C27M steel for sale by a large hunting supply house...they are calling it an Ibex Knife, Jim Shockey...
Hmmmmmm...

interesting....

Thanks for the input , I would have thought there 'd be something in the paperwork with the knife but I guess it's not always the case.

No nail nick.

Is that the front or rear of JS's head profile?

They are calling the blade a clip.

Oregon, I can see where they might actually consider that blade shape a "modified clip"...
My thoughts on this are that if there is one customer who had "special" knives made for them, then it is entirely possible that the knife in the OP's question, and the one in Plumbers thread could have been a special project for someone...
The code on the box in Plumber's thread doesn't have the BO ( build out ) in it...

A knife made for me...

Drop point, no nail nick, S30V, 110 size with handle of bright red Bucklite resin. Maybe Paperstone.
