Hi All,

I am wondering how close to the factory edge can I expect to get with the Sharpmaker 204, all of my Spydercos shaved hair out of the box. I am seriously considering buying one asap but still have some doubts, seems almost too good to be true, like a godsend or something

You won't regret it. It is one of the best sharpening systems going. You can get a razor edge on most knives with little practice. There are some edge angles that will require some practice working with. That applies to Spyderco Knives as well. I am still learning with mine, but I am extremely pleased.

Do yourself a BIG favor, and buy a Spyderco SHARPmaker. These Sharpmakers are GREAT!

(But be careful to stock-up on Bandaids,
'cause your knives will become TOO SHARP!.

Wow it seems that it is unanimous, I will definetly be getting one of these babies, I have done some shopping around and it seems that the going rate for a sharpmaker 204 is totally reasonable for the results that it will give, thank you all for all of the valuable input and putting my mind at ease

I wasn't able to get a good razor edge until I got my sharpmaker 204 now my left arm is bare of hair.

And as far as serrations goes, it is the best. Some people use other systems to sharpen there plain edge and come back to the 204 for serrations. I use it for everything. And the video that comes along with it is the best.
