I have one of the older white handled 110's. Material looks like Corian or maybe a type of plastic. It's cracked at one of the pins. Not sure if it will fail completely or not.

Will Buck fix it? Will they use the same material or just ship me a current wood one? I like the handle, bit different. Not sure if I should live with it or take my chances on getting a new wood one in return.

Thanks for input!

Well OC,

You can send it to me and I'll send you a new wood one!!!! If I were you I'd just leave it as is. If it fails completely send it for repair/replacement.

Yes Dave,

I guess I should clarify "That was a Joke" and noting more. I don't want the forum police to get me for a joke . I don't see the Buck plant offering anything with white corian or white plastic of any kind currently; But, who knows. In addition, is this even from Buck or was this an after market custom job? OC can you post a photo?

I'm 99% sure it's factory. It's a 110- blade and they made them with the white handles then from what I've read. Also, it looks correct, not an after market mod.

I tried to take pics. However, had technical difficulties (my issues and a toddler involved didn't help).

I'm leaning towards leaving it the way it is. It is what it is. I like it more with the small crack then I would like a new one.

If Joe chimes in and says they can replace the handles with like white material then I would do it. However, I have to admit that is a lot to ask and I don't expect it.

I would leave it alone for now, or maybe try the super glue idea. If you send it in and risk getting a wood handled 110, you won't have the wonderful 440C blade that the older 110's had. The newer ones have 420HC, of course with bucks great heat treat, but still not as good as the 440C blades.
