Any suggestions as to good use of space and top things to put in would be greatly appreciated!!

factory sheath fits very securely on pack with a little work. I took out plastic liner by cliping threads between eyelets and heating and smashing flat between two 2x6s

Clich should have plennnntttyyy of info on that particular pack for you if he happens upon this thread.

Not sure what you plan on using the bag for but I keep a Maxpedition Versipack in my car that is a mix between a BOB and EDC bag.

Things I have in there:
2 flash lights - 1 small - 1 large
extra batteries
multi tool
3 knives large fixed blade - large folder - small folder
water bottle
first aid kit
fire starting kit
4 or 5 protein bars
2 or 3 bags of water
extra watch
phone changer (has a back up battery good for 1 charge)
small gps
space blanket
poncho
and some other small assorted stuff.

It wouldn't last well as a 72 hour bag but it could hold me over for a day or two if I was traded in a car crash during the winter or what not.

That's what I'm looking for . Thanks

Just was considering that pack myself. I have the 24 which is a little large for an edc for me. Nice pics.

If that bag is too big for somebody then they need to gain some weight and hit the gym...that is a nice bag...nice blade too!!

The top zipper inside organizer holds my paranoia survival stuff ( fatwood, tin with firestraws fishing line esee arrowhead tin knife), gobspark, purification tabs, small sharpening stone, emergency blanket, flashlight and batteries)

The bottom inside pouch holds my first aid stuff. Basic kit with added quick clot bandages and tylenol and allegra.

The lower draw string pouch at the rear holds a 32 oz nalgene with space saver cup and my gloves.

The hydration pouch (since I don't use it for a hydration pouch) holds 6 paint stir sticks and 100 ft of cord.

The front out side pouch has a compass and an eat n tool (secure with those hanging clips) along with various edc stuff life pens Notepads etc. And a glow stick that I mainly let my kid carry on night walks but have also used it on the out side of my pack for locating it in the dark

The top valuables pocket by the handle is where I keep my keys.

And I keep a 16 lashed to one side for edc and add the machax to the other when needed.

Nice pack I always liked the camo version

Y'all ain't gonna be happy till I end up with a 5.11 pack are ya? Just trying to saturate me with pix of them till I give in. I see....

Thank you all for your input. I will write these suggestions down and boil it down to my needs. Great advice as always!

Nice-Looking set-up! I like those Rush bags, from looking at them anyways.

Anyone here who is tall own a Rush? Everyone Ive heard talk about the maxped falcon and vulture didnt like them if they were tall...so I was wondering how the Rushs fit longer torsos. The 5.11s look more suited to my torso then the maxped, judging from pics.

Same here. Question is, do I get the toys to fill it first or the pack first?

The 12 looks like a great sized pack for EDC / emergency car pack. I'd probably throw in an "Adventure Medical 2.0" kit and a couple of trauma / clotting pads. Add in whatever else suits your intended purpose.

A small tarp would fit in the hydration pouch nicely. Like a 6x8 or a 8x10

and zipties....always handy to have some zipties around. And I would mount a good multi-tool to the strapping on the outside

Off topic: Anyone used a MOAB 10? I'm looking at those for my EDC/BOB at summer camp.. I'm getting tired of packs I can easily make weigh 30 lbs....

...then something every bag should have is the FM 21-76 US ARMY SURVIVAL MANUAL. You can get them on Amazon or eBay or Barn and Noble but it is a really good manual to have on you.

You can also download the current Army survival pub FM 3-05.70 in a pdf file for free from numerous sources on the web.

That is an awesome pack set up!

I also found it as an Android app if anyone has Droid and thinks it'd be a decent read. Word of Warning: VERY VERY VERY MANY TYPOS!

I don't own a MOAB 10, but I'm looking at one very seriously. I'm waiting on my tax check to order one. It'll be my new kayak pack. I've watched dozens of reviews and checked one out at Mallard hill. I just need to pay the man.
