Factory Regrinding

I know that I can send my spydie to the factory and get the blade reground for $25. My question is can I also get the serrations ground off of a knife, or inversely get serrations ground into one? Just think about all the times you find the perfect discontinued model that you have been searching for weeks for only to find that it is in the wrong edge configuration:mad:.

So what about it? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE:D

I'm fairly sure that you can get your blade serrated or have the serrations tuned up, but to grind them off would radically change the blade shape and geometry...Take Care...Ed

Grinding serrations on any knife is normally done prior to heat treating. Grinding serrations into an existing blade will most likely ruin the blades heat treat. Unless Spyderco has a secret method of doing this without removing the blade, grinding in the serration, re-heat treating, and annealing it for a reasonable amount I wouldn't count on it getting done.
