Factory Seconds Sale - Follow-up

Well played, Spyderco family!!!
Regardless of the cruel and unusual torture(because of the timed out refreshing), I(we all) was/were going through, it was a blessing to participate!
I got my son's (15) and a close family friends(44 and will be his 1st Spyderco) Christmas presents, during the sale!

Did I get what All I wanted? Nope..
Did I get cool stuff at a fraction of the price? Hell Yeah!!!

End result.. Happy first time 2nd sale, customer!

So, a question that I raised in the other thread was:

Will Spyderco bother holding "in person" 2nds Sales in Golden again after the success of this online sale or will the company only be doing online 2nd sales from now on?

Has this been discussed w/in the company yet or not? If so, what's the trend in opinion on the subject?

What is the future of the in-person Factory Seconds Sale?

We have every intention of having an in-person Factory Seconds Sale in 2021. We will continue to monitor local conditions and restrictions and make announcements as we are able.

Will you have another online Factory Seconds Sale?

Once the dust settles, and we catch our breath, we’re going to evaluate the possibility of future online Factory Seconds Sale. For now, the answer is, we don’t know.

Yes, I did but I don't think it answered my question about whether you'd still hold an "in person" 2nds sale given the "overwhelming" demand/success of the online sale.

So, what's the answer to that question?

Thank you Spyderco for the opportunity! I missed out on any of the 2nds since I couldn't complete a sale on the website but I really appreciated the chance. It was a mad scramble, I can only imagine what it was like on Spyderco's end. I'm sure they are glad that it's over. lol

Reading (thoroughly) is fundamental but I think that the "reprint" will be useful to other "speed readers" like me.

I have only ever bought new Spyderco so this was my first 2nds purchase.

I did not get the knife that I originally wanted because, by the time I got to checkout it was gone, I am not displeased with that due to so much volume hitting the website, I did successfully buy 1 knife that`s going to be someones Christmas gift, my only complaint is the knife came wrapped only in bubble wrap in a box, but no Spyderco box ?

This wont look good when they open their present and there`s a well known name brand knife without a box. It sure would be nice to get a Spyderco box to put it in before Christmas.
 
Greatly appreciated the on line sale. I was late to the party as usual, but did manage to pick up a Parata. I have wanted one since they came out, but the price point was alittle more than I wanted to spend - when I saw they were going for alittle over 100.00 at the seconds sale, I jumped on that as quickly as I could - only complaint was the time it took to sign up to buy, but knowing it was that complicated to keep the riff raff out, I didn't mind. Got an email confirmation and then a shipping confirmation with the knife showing up as promised - exactly what I would expect from Spyderco. Fun knife and I am glad I got it. Would have liked to pick up more, but... I got more than I would have if it would have been an in store sale. Thanks again - you folks need to understand how much we - your customers - appreciate your efforts.

Welcome to the world of factory seconds. No box, no warranty and being sold that way because it failed Quality Control for some reason.

To send Private messages, you just need to pay for a membership to the forum.
 
While the experience was not perfect, how could anyone expect it to be when it's the first online sale and with such short notice.
Overall I think it opened up the sale to many that would never have had a chance to make it to the in-person sale and at the same time reduced access to resellers, both good things.
 
All I can say is thank you Spyderco online 2nd was awesome
Didn’t get everything I wanted but I did get two I was looking for.

Thanks again would love to see 2nd online again!
 
I missed it this time around in that in the first hours couldn't get the page to load and finally forgetting about it until the weekend.By then all the best items were said for.
