A few years ago, I bought a few Cold Steel factory seconds as users. They worked as good as new, and were about half of the retail price.

I thought I would do the same thing for a few SOGs. I called their number and talked to a woman about the SOG factory seconds. They had some available, but the price was real high. i was quoted $140 for a Trident II factory second! I can get a first quality from a retailer for under $120, so I am wondering if anyone has found a good deal on SOG factory seconds?

You will find better deals (not factory seconds) through third party dealers than purchasing directly from the manufacturer. What knives are you interested in purchasing. I can look up the wholesale price.

I was originally looking for a Seal Pup (not Elite) and a Seal 2000. I have since bought a Seal 2000, but I am still looking for a deal on a Pup.

99020 $117.95
99023 $99.95
99024 $117.95
37037 $89.95

If you find something along those prices you will get a good deal.

00037 $161.95

Oops, those prices above are retail. Below is wholesale...

99020 $56.05
99023 $47.50
99024 $56.05
37037 $44.17

Anyway, comparing wholesale to retail will give you a better idea of a good deal.

00037 $78.37

I have to agree on this one. I can totally understand SOG not wanting to under cut their retailers, but I would think that seconds would be the exception.
If they don't have retailers selling their seconds (do they?) then they wouldn't be undercutting them. I would be very interested if anyone sold a SOG second at a reasonable price.

The same thing happened to me a while back when I was trying to purchase my first Flash II. They wanted a good $50.00 or so and I found a brand new one at Lowes for the same price. I also asked about their vulcans and they only dropped the price $20~$30 dollars. I ended up buying one from American Light for only $100.00 brand new. I'm not much for using Ebay, I like handling my knives in person, so to me the prices I ended up paying were still better than the seconds prices I was given.
