Has anyone ever seen or heard of Buck putting out a Special project's 110 with "cultured" turquoise inlays? That's what this one is supposed to be, but I don't believe it was done by Buck. The box that it comes in is marked B110-SP78-0 which according to the Special Projects list from Joe was a 110/112 combination blade made for SMKW's.

Sorry for the cruddy picture, but it's from the listing.

It's not mine but the seller is listing it as coming from the Buck factory with those inlays. I know for a fact that the model number is incorrect (it's for another knife) and the sheath (nylon) looks more like one for a much larger folder such as a folding Alpha.

Okay, here is one of mine with real turquoise. It's not factory but it is real... :D

I think its aftermarket, seems to me I see Eric at arksknives use the white version, that looks to have the sametype veining, from time to time on his, maybe he'll be able to tell if he chimes in.

Thats a beautie Red.

Dave,

I don't recall any factory turquoise 110's. Someone may have ordered one like that from the old custom shop. I do think they made a factory 503 with turquoise scales.

I asked the guy to add pictures of the tang stamp or tell me what it is. All he did was put on more blurry pictures that tell you nothing. He must be using a 1/2 mega pixel camera with no macro! I just sent him another request for a description of the tang stamp.

He just got back to me, the knife is a 2004 and has filework done on it which even more convinces me that it's aftermarket work. He knows now that the box and number is wrong but so far hasn't changed the listing. For a new seller, he sure has a bunch of Bucks for sale.

Looks like an aftermarket knife to me. I've never seen a factory 110 with Turquoise scales and pretty sure it wouldn't have filework done on it if it were factory. The filework he shows looks like it's on the scales and not the frame!
