Factory Visit...

I'm thinking of visiting the Benchmade factory next week, and I'm toying with the idea of buying a knife for my Dad, who turns 80 in July. He's not necessarily a "knife guy", but he is a "gun guy", and my brother and I just thought that a nice knife would be something he would enjoy.

Any recommendations for a good folder, say, in the sub $100.00 range?

Thanks!

The factory is good if you are looking for gold or discontinued. There are places in town with much better prices like a particular northwest gun shop/armory on McLoughlin or the "sporting goods" gun shop east side/Gresham on Powell. The factory does have the best selection though and the woman who is usually there is very nice.

I like the Triage as I cut a lot of paracord with the cord cutter and the G10 is nice and grippy.

Definitely go to the place on McLaughlin

I know many consider the Griptilians an entry level Benchmade, but I think looking at them that way, seriously under rates them. IMHO, they are one of the best buys on the market

"The place on McLoughlin" In Milaukie?

I'm going to guess that identifying dealers in the open forum is frowned upon. Would someone be kind enough to PM me the name of "the place on McLoughlin"?

Thanks!

I just sent you a visitors message

Received; thank you!

I'm open to the idea of a discontinued model, so I'll definitely see what the factory has to offer. my threshold for pain, price wise, is a bit more than my desired price range...

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!

I went to the factory last week and picked my Dad up his birthday present:

I think he's gonna' like it...

What's not to like? :p

How was the factory trip? Was it as cool as you expected?

Well, I was only able to visit the factory store. They weren't giving factory tours.

I worked for Taylor Guitars for eight years, and they have a very vibrant factory tour program there. It would've been nice to see the factory at Benchmade, but it didn't really put a damper on the trip...
