My last order of 3 just came in yesterday from Fahrman so I order with them is complete. Took a family photo to share here. I have to say that with the exception of Bob Dozier, these have to be the sharpest as received knives I have ever gotten.

I love these knives and the guys at Fahrman Tool & Die sure know how to put a knife together.

The First Strike and the Last Chance (the 2 biggest ones) have a very comfortable handle. The micarta slabs are supported by rubber inserts between them and the tang so that vibrations while chopping is absorbed before getting to your hands.

I have been interested in Fehrman knives myself!! Those all look incredibel!!! CONGRATS!! And HAPPY B-DAY!

Muzzleup,

I remember you showed us, few months ago, a very beautiful Trident. So, i have a question: how many birthdays per year for you?
Happy birthday and congrats for this four of a kind.

I own several Fehrman knives and would rate them along with the Busse Infi knives as among the best knives on the planet.

Dantzk8,
Yeah, I only have one birthday a year but sometimes I like to give myself a treat too. I still rate the Tridents as top notch tough well made knives but they cost a little more then the Fahrmans and Trident only has a limited number of models available...I still have them and keep them with my "GOOD KNIVES".

Dig Deep,
I am in full agreement with you about Fehrman and Busse. Busse makes a good knife out of a good steel but their QC is a little on/off. I got two that were very sharp as received and one that I needed to put an edge on.

ALL of the Fehrmans came with screaming sharp edges and the 3V is damn tough stuff too. The only knives that I have bought that have come as sharp as the Fehrmans has been the Bob Doziers...now that's saying something!

That's the right way! Enjoy!

Congratulations Muzzleup!
Great collection. I have Fehrman Thru Hiker and love it! Great shape, steel and the finish it PREFECT! Now I'm thinking about getting a peace maker - due to unexpected expenses I still have some $ to save up to buy it - but I'm surely into this knife.
If you could post some more pics of it - that would be great!
Thanks.

Tree Herder,
Got a couple more photos for you. Check out the General forum under "Peace Maker for Tree Herder".

Hope you like them.

Boness,

Scary sharp is RIGHT! I think that except for my Bob Dozier knives the Fehrmans are the sharpest out of the box then any other knives I have, although Trident runs neck & neck with the Fahrmans too.

Good to hear there that sharp out of the box..I have been lookin at these for a while and bein a busse fan I figured i might give one of these a try. That perks my interest all the more.

I do not think you would be unhappy with any of the Fehrman knives. I too have some Busse's but I am very impressed with the Fehrman Knives. Although Busse makes a hell of a knife, sometimes you get a sharp one and somtimes you get one that's not quits so sharp (a QC problem I think) but the Fehrman knives are each hand ground and hand hones to a brillient sharpness and the 3V steel in extremly tough. Give one a try and you will be satisfied I am sure.

REVIVAL! i see that this is a few years old, but i kind of want to post in it

I have been looking at Fehrman's for while now. i was interested in the First Strike but i have freakishly large hands and ive read several negative reviews about Fehrman because their handles were too small. i'm excited to see that the handles have different sizes, i thought they would all the same. after seeing the picture above, i see that the First Strike has about 1/2" more handle than the Last Chance. does anyone with really large hands like the ergos of Ferhman knives? if so, what model is the most comfortable?

i think Bussekin does an amazing job with their handles, i hope Ferhman can do the same. but, like i said, i havent heard good things about fehrman's.
