Fair price for a like-new Starmate

I like tip up carry and, as a result, have nevered used or carried my Starmate (only tip down carry).

What's a fair price for it for either selling or trading?

The only one I could find was on eBay for the excessive price of $270!! :eek:

I have been helping someone look for one who collects Spyderco knives for sometime now......I saw one go off the Knifeforums "For Sale" sub-forum for $160 several weeks ago but missed that one. Within the last week there was one for trade......here on our "trade forum". Inquiring if it might be for sale, the seller wanted $250 for it. Recently eBay had one listed at "Buy It Now" for $299. The keys are patience, persistence, and timing. We have been looking for over three years ! Right now the going price seems to be $200 upwards.

Fair price for a like-new Starmate?...IMO, a fair price would be around $100.

However, I am continuously amazed by the amount of money that some people are willing to dish out for certain Spydies.

...that is what they sold for NIB eight years ago !.......and since they are no longer manufactured and now collectors items, surely you don't expect to pay that today ! :eek:

IMO, they are worth $170+, easy! A lightly used one with no box recently sold for a little over $200 on the bay! All the Terzuolas are nice, I carry my c-16 and Starmate users, often.

$100, yeah right, I wish they were cause I'd buy more of them for sure!

...when PSU finds one...I'm certain he will sell it to you for $100...'cause that's a "fair price". :D

I sold a CE starmate for 200 on ebay a few months ago. That I bought the month before for 142.00! I love the look of the knife but wasn't crazy about it when I got it. Hope that helps.

LOL you got me on that one...I would probably sell it for as much as I could get :D
 
I have a very much used and loved StarMate for which I would not take $200 or even $400. Sorry 'bout that. :D
