Fair price or source for this Buck Knife?

Hello Buck Forum!

Recently my father passed from this world very unexpectedly, and I have inherited his lifelong companion, a Buck 120. I believe this model was known as the Buck General. It shares the same lines and design of the Buck Special, the model 119 I think it is. I'm sure you all already knew that, but I wanted to be clear what knife I was talking about exactly.

I'm curious to see if there's a source for obtaining a Buck General to actually use. My father's knife was well cared for as were all his tools, and like any good knife it has outlasted its original owner. Still, I'd like to retire it. He's not here to use it any more. I figure checking the forums here is a good idea, and I haven't checked Ebay but I will.

I'm curious if anyone can suggest other places to look, or what a fair price to pay is. I'm sure it's not going to be cheap exactly as the 120 has been out of production for a while now, but I figure this is the place to ask.

I've been following them on eBay; they can fetch anywhere from $40 - $80, with $60 seeming to be the mean. This is the black phenolic. The Cocobolo gets more; the lifetime free sharpening model [Cabelas] fetch more (if paperwork is included).

That $54.99 is an excellent price...it's the "Buck Pro Line" which has "FREE lifetime sharpening and reconditioning", as stated in the Cabelas catalog...

I may just order one of these... :D
So is the free sharpening and the beautiful logo the only plus to the "Pro Line"? Wish they had one with wood :(
Goose.

I purchased one the Pro-Line 120's about a year ago and it was unusual in that it didn't have a date code. Just thought that was kind of strange.
