I have been collecting knives for many years now (Chris Reeve, Spyderco, Al Mar, Kershaw, etc.) but not until recently have i developed an interest in Busse. The prospect of INFI steel and the diehard collector market have really gotten my attention lately. Anyways, of all the models i have seen thus far, the FBM and the Hell Razor are my favorites. I have been looking on Ebay lately and discovered a "lightly used" Hell Razor at a starting bid of $360.00 and a couple FBM's for a Buy it Now of between $550. and $599.. I am just trying to figure out how these prices factor in versus the price at the time when these models were still being produced. What would be reasonable for these models? (especially the Hell Razor). Also, i am curious as to when the Razor was produced and i assume it is INFI, not A2??? Is there a site that lists all Busse models with production dates and relative pricing??? Any input is greatly appreciated. :)

Try bussecollector.com; it lists all the models and their original list price. To get an idea of current market value though, you'll have to go to the exchange here and do a search for the particular model to see what they are now selling for. Original list price doesn't really matter, its the market.

Hope that helps.

The price for the Hell Razer is a good one. The prices for the FBMs seem high unless there is something special about them.

IF it stays there the price is good. . . well, OK. HR's are about a year old or so. I think I got my from the BCS last August. I think.

FBM's - you could wait it out and try to see what you can steal from the BCS. I hesitate to say it, but there's a BIBB on the XC that is a SUPERB deal. . . and I keep looking at it. LOL

You do know that the person selling that HellRazor is going to come by and give you a word of encouragement....

Thanks alot for the help everybody. The fact that Busse seems to only produce one model at a time( and for a very limited time):o seems to kick the collectors market into overdrive. After digging around and discovering the hundreds of variants including the Busse Custom Shop options, it is becoming more and more difficult to find the right knife to start off with in my pursuit of Busse collecting. However, it might NOT be a good thing if i start collecting Busse knives only because my wallet might run screaming in a fit of terror.;) Anyways, i guess i just need to spend more time looking around the Busse exchange to find the right knife that will suit my tastes and potentially make my already severe knife buying addiction increase 100 fold. :D

God help you my friend. I'm a relative noob to knives of this caliber, and I'm starting to think that the entire Busse family is trying to bankrupt me. For God's sake this man has brothers and sisters out there making great knives!!!Not to put your wallet in further jeopardy...but you have seen SwampRat and ScrapYard correct???

Hello Severance, welcome to the world of Busse knives, and the best knife community out there. You have correctly determined that this madness WILL be injurious to your wallet. I started last spring with a Swamp Rat Ratweiler, and got my first Busse back in November. I took some pics of the whole collection this morning, and was surprised to count up 21 knives  , and there are two more on the way :D

Enjoy your new sickness!

Severance,

I'll email you with my phone number, I'll give you a tour of my site and a crash course on collecting Busse knives.

EDIT: You don't have an email on file, so email me instead.

Greg

Well CHAH!

We get you to buy knives at "high" prices. . . and when you declare and need to liquidate, we buy them back at "low" prices.

I'm shocked it took that long for someone to figure it out. ;)

Well, as you'd seen these don't go for original price, sometimes double that. The hell razor is actually a good price, they're going for 400 some on the exchange. The fbms, price varies depending on options, but those 599 sounds pretty high unless it had one of the really desireable schemes. Just keep an eye out and you'll see them at original price there too... a while ago some guy in alaska was selling a couple them at the stores price with shipping at 5 bucks less, and there's one on there at 355 right now.
