i have a microtech utd a friend of mine wants. i am pretty sure i bought it back in 1999 or 2000 i never used or carried it. id like a fixed blade, he has and offered him cash for benchmade. its a 220 fix resistor. he wants to trade me that and 50 bucks for the utd. he thinks because it says first production 0366/1000 it is worth more a lot. i dont value the number am i crazy for offering him 100 for it? he said he never used it and it looks perfect.

thanks,

liquid

I'm not an expert, but I hang around the For Sale forums more than I should, and from what I've seen numbered BMs sell pretty close to the same as unnumbered ones.

Ditto numbered benchmade unless it's gold class is really irrelevant in relation to value on secondary market

Bm is a little strange in that some of their models actually have a larger group of limited edition knives then they do unmarked, so id do some research into the knife if i were you

I don't know what they are worth but I would think the Microtech would be worth substantially more. Maybe go to EBay and search to see what the knives are selling for. Under advanced search you can search for past auctions that have closed so you can see what they actually sold for. I agree that it makes no difference the Benchmade is numbered.
