Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a list of custom knife makers currently producing the Fairbairn-Sykes Dagger.

I know of Paul MacDonald in Scotland and Peter Parkinson in New Zealand.
There's got to be more than just two makers for this fine knife!

I do know that Pooley, Sheffield, a German company I can't remember the name of...and a couple other companies make them....
Looking for high quality "functional" (Proper balance, taper, weight, etc...) knife.

Specifically looking for a Pattern 2 F-S. (I currently have both a Parkinson and a MacDonald)

Les George makes a hell of a user version of the F/S.......I know Rob Patton has done some and also Rob Brown from South Africa has done some....if he can do it, a great bet might be to challenge Neill Schutte, also from South Africa.

They all will be VERY expensive.

Best Regards,

There was a retired police office in San Jose, Ca. who was a member of the Bay Area Knife Collectors Club that made them about 10 years ago and they were extremely well made... I used to own a production version by a German Co., Linder, that was also well made...

Steven mentioned Les George and he has them priced in the $450-500 range in collaboration with Spartan knives... They won 2014 collaboration of the year at blade... http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/SN...-fde-blade-green-g10-handles-tan-kydex-sheath

I'm sure forum member "Nathan the Machinist" would make version to be proud of.... Also, Ebay has about 100 currently listed, many from the 40's for sale at the moment... I was really surprised, there were some quality newer daggers as well...

Current production models, by known companies include...

Case reissue..... http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/CA...letto-fixed-double-edge-dagger-leather-handle

Boker Applegate.... http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/BO...um-Dagger-5-12-inch-Blade-with-Micarta-Handle

Cold Steel... http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/CS...er-13-blued-carbon-steel-blade-leather-handle

Hill Knives from Holland make a beautiful modern FS.

As Steven said, the best custom Fairbairn I have ever seen is made by Rob Brown.

Before becoming famous making sword canes, Fred Burger also made some stunning ones in the late 80's early 90's. Hard to find now but beautiful.
