I've gotta say it....

"only 50 sterile SHe's were made" ??????

Somebody's gonna get duped. :grumpy:

And yes, that is the official "Cranky Old Leatherbender" smilie! :p

Do NOT discuss where this came from, dicuss why someone would say that. :grumpy:

Thanque

I think that's crap too. I have one and I've seen several others. The secondary market can be a treacherous place.

Yeah, I wondered about that, too. Given how reticient Busse is to discuss numbers, how would anyone know this, even if it were true.

I've sold a sterile and had the opportunity to buy others.

Why say it? Because it makes the knife more rarer.

Somehow, the SHEs I've owned and most that I've seen were those same 50 sterile ones, over and over... at blade shows, in the exchange, among friends, etc. LOL

I think the really rare ones have the blade etching! :D

I've got one now - so how much did the value of it jump?

You know the one, Mike - you've probably seen it before.

Bingo! I've seen a LOT more sterile E handles than logoed. Logo's were the exception not the rule.

Mine was sterile before the stripping, AND it has a penetrator tip! I'm sitting on a gold mine!!!!! :p

I got 3 straight from Busse and they have never left me of course only one still has the original E handle and that my not be for long.

Oh ya I prefer my Busses sterile.

I do wish they did the old school Busse stamp on the spine.

Most definitely a load of turd. Got that strap in the mail the other day Dwayne! Thank you! It fits perfect!

Only 50!! Heck I sold 27 of them to one HOG, can't remember who though.

On the Bay the other day, there was a knife listed, the description was completely wrong. Had the wrong color when the finish was Muddy, they were calling it either sage or olive drab I think. ( I sent a message to the person selling it, telling him he might want to modify the description so no one was angry when they purchased it.....he did actually change the description and give an opportunity for those who had already placed bids to withdraw them).

Seems like most on ebay are listed as "super rare, never seen for sale, custom.....etc" when they are standard production. Seems like a good number are listed as "military over run" also

Of course there are ones for sale that do fit the super rare description, as collectors pieces too.

just have to be aware I guess.

Everything on that site is "super rare".

Aside from knives, I also collect games. I can't remember the last game I bought off that site that wasn't "super rare". Strangely enough, even a terribly mangled / cosmetically flawed item, well used and widely available can be "mint condition" and "super rare".

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

You just have to be an educated consumer, know what you're buying and bid accordingly.

I think the thing that might make that particular knife SUPER-rare is that it is in fact made of depleted uranium mined by Oompa Loompas from the planet Druidia. ;)
