My neighbor showed me what appeared to be 110 with no identity blade stamping indicating it was a Buck product.
I maintain it was a good counterfeit. Anyone? Thanks.

Hard to say unless you send us a picture or two.

While I've never seen a 110 without some sort of blade markings......you never know.

They were made for the CIA in 2001.

Background / Inside Joke- A friend of mine once bought some unmarked AR mags at a gunshow. For those of us that know AR parts, this is a no-no; they are usually import crap not worth buying. Anyway he showed them to me and told me they were "made for the CIA and were contract overruns"... I don't know what's worse...that some hick working a gunshow table came up with this garbage or that the customers bought it (???)

I saw a counterfit 110 at a gun show not too long ago without "BUCK" on the tang but it was in the cardboard like sheath with the Buck Knives embossing. The dealer also had "real" 110's so side by side you could see the quality difference but alone it would fool a lot of people.

Thanks to all for your contributions. If the 110 was a fake it was a doggone good one. I'll let my neighbor know the results of this inquiry.

Some of the real early [1963-1964] 110's were etched/lightly stamped...I've heard...They look different from a latter era 110..

If the knife wasn't represented as a Buck by way of stampings or etchings in order to deceive a buyer into thinking it was a real 110, then I wouldn't consider it a counterfeit. It would be a clone in my opinion and there are hundreds of them out there. I don't believe that Buck has a patent on that pattern so anyone and everyone is free to produce them or their own variation of them as long as they don't represent them as a Buck brand knife.

They are probably counting on folks not knowing what to look for or for those looking for a less expensive knife.

yes i have seen 110's with out tang stamps
while odd and uncomnon they do exist
a few pictures would be needed to make any determantion
note if i think it is real i may try to buy it...
