Fake benchmade 550-1?

i got a 550-1 and literally everything is on point. But in the thumbhole there’s one spot where it isn’t perfectly smooth.

Is this just benchmade iffy qc? I know they don’t always have perfect angles on their edges. But this is new for me. Any help is appreciated

Where did you buy it?

I'm not aware of any g10 grip fakes.
 
I don’t think there is any type of griptilian fake(tanto, drop point or sheepsfoot) on the market. There is aluminum and carbon fiber 940 fake, 810 contego fake and a bunch more that is so obvious that you’ll know its a fake when you see it.
 
It's real. Benchmades do have questionable qc from time to time.

ebay and Amazon are full of fakes now it's hard to find legit knives on them but there are some. Since it was a friend and he verified it was from bladehq that's good news. Try and avoid those platforms in the future to avoid buying fakes.
 
I had one just like it, direct from a legit distributor. A little 400 grit paper takes care of it.
