Fake Blur ????

Believe it or not, those knock-offs sell pretty well. They're all I see when I go to the flea market, and the kids can't get enough of them. The knife booths are always the busiest.

I saw a ton of fake Leeks. I got a nice laugh when the guy running one of the booths told me his display sword and axe were ready and tested for actual battle :jerkit:

Yes its fake and very sad! Please educate as many people you can on what the difference is. Some people just don't know what the difference is, some people just don't care I guess.:( We can get that listing removed from Ebay, but the hard part is the guys at the flea markets. I would love to wheel in an acetolyne torch to one of those flea markets and take care of the problem myself:D:D:D

I have seen those fakes as well. The handles are actually metal plated plastic and the blades are the worst junk you can imagine. It is a shame that the factory can't be sued.

wow. educate is right! i almost feel sorry for the people, especially the kids, who buy those. just looking at it they should be able to tell that its a crappy knife. you would think that these people who buy these crap knives would do their research

You know those teenagers though...they don't have all the decades of wisdom like us.

Many dont care or dont want to be educated. I have tried and shown the difference between my REAL rainbow leek and the knockoff. But they dont care or they deny it. The ones that do care often cant afford the real thing or you get one who wants to learn.....thats cool though. Getting someone to buy the real thing:D:thumbup:

i'll be first to say teens are stupid in alot of cases. some aren't (like me :D), but others are.

example. i was talking to a friend about switchblades. he was looking to get one and I was the resident knife knut. so i was telling him about some good autos (Microtechs, ect, BM's for their price) and he was like "ok thanks".

so one day he comes up to me to show me his new auto. its a $5, gas station special. those fake blurs prolly open faster! you could watch the blade arc open. it was also as dull as crap. he claimed it to be a good knife.

all that help and he gets that thing . teens cant always help teens, sadly

My dad once to me " that there is an ass for every seat". If you put it up for sale someone will buy it.

You SHOULD have told him that switchblades are illegal to carry unless you are in law enforcement (for the most part).

Yes. Fake! I had one of the fake Leeks send to me from a guy who said, 'its the same thing made in the same plant as the Leeks' but guess what? Night and day difference between this clunker and the real deal. These are junk folks. He's taking your money even at $0.99

Those are just so awesome! I can't wait for mine to come in.

When I clicked on the link it said $7.32 shipping. Must be extra for
all the insurance that thing needs.
Maybe Kershaw needs to re-think their warranty policy.
This guy is offering a whole 7 DAYS for defects!

haha
too funny

I've been on a hunt for knife stores in my area for some time now, and I recently drove by one in Batavia. I was skeptical because of the hand painted windows,"knives, swords, katanas."

Sure enough, I walk in to see the same junk that retard on the shopping channel shills late at night. Swords and fanasy fighting crap all over the walls, and three glass cabinets with a sign that read, "all knives $6.99." The best knife in the store was a lone maxam.

I was out as quick as I came.

well i did tell him, but i doubt that he gave a rip. you can own switchblades in Ohio, just dont carry em unless, like you said, your LE or military. at least thats how i understand the law

There is a flea market that I go to sometimes on the weekends, and there is an Indian woman running a fantasy type knife booth there, I stop by her booth every time I go, for kicks and giggles. If she sees me looking at a crappy knife whether it be folder or fixed, she says, " That one very good, very heavy!" Apparently a blade's weight is an indicator of quality........wonder why they don't make em' in lead?

I like this one. Especially the last picture.

With an MSRP of $22 it must be a steal to get these knives for the low low insanely low price of $4.99. I guess I got ripped off when I bought my current EDC (Benchmade 710)... it MSRP'd at $170 and I paid $106 for it :( should've looked around and gotten a $4.99 knife that kinda looked like it. Live and learn I guess.

Polished wood and the ability to add a keychain to the bottom must be of vital importance to the real knife using public. I feel kinda bad for caring so much about edge retention and lock strength all these years now... I guess I'll know what to look for next time I'm in the market for a new knife.

I used to work with a kid that would blow part of his paycheck on knives like these so I've handed a few of them. Some of them are heavy and feel pretty sturdy when they're closed. But open one of them up and you see where the difference between them and something like a Benchmade is. I finally talked the kid into buying a Kershaw Vapor instead of four $5 knives one week. Sure the Vapor is Kershaw's low end and AUS-6 isn't great, but it's a whole hell of a lot better than whatever it is these knives are made of. I hope he felt the difference in quality.

Someone will always buy these knives. There's always going to be a market for them just like anything else. It's the downfall of this consumer capitalist system we have. Anything that can be sold will always have a buyer. And anything that kinda looks like a more expensive version of something will sell that much better.

Sure these knives will take an edge, some of them may even hold an edge. But what kind of support do you get when the lock fails or you need parts or service? I may pay more for a knife than I really need to, but I know that the companies I buy from (Buck, Spyderco, Benchmade and Kershaw mainly and in that order) will always back their product.

I like this one. Especially the last picture.

I like what he says, "'It just has a 'high-quality' feel'" and "Once you see this, you'll understand the quality that went into this USA designed knife. You'll ask yourself what you were thinking when you almost made the mistake of buying a different knife". Yeah im asking myself, why didnt i buy this along with the other 2 Kershaws i just bought. What was I thinking!

Lets not forget "The added beauty, the attractive design, the sharp edge -- these all say QUALITY."

remember kids, if it has these above characteristics, then its a QUALITY knife! Also, you can get dozens of these "high quality" knives for the price of one "lesser quality" Benchmade or Kershaw! What A Deal! :rolleyes:

I like this one. Especially the last picture.

The last picture and caption are priceless! First I thought "who the hell carries like that?", then I thought, "crap that knife is way bigger than I thought!". Then I read the last caption and nearly fell on the floor laughing.

He also pointed out something I look for in all of my knives "the way it snaps into a locking position". You'll note that it doesn't actually lock, it just snaps into a position that you SHOULD be able to lock it from.

Or am I being too critical?

Good grief. He has the same 'knife' listed singularly on 3 different
pages with 2 diff prices, then again on another page in a 12 pack.

arggh.
