Wow! I could not see anything wrong on the photo except for the item location!
Probably the grind on Caly looks a bit off, but I am not really sure!

Wire clip is too wide, the forward choil is too shallow and too long. Plus it claims to be D2 steel.

The knife picture says 'Japan,' while the description says 'China.'
Also, it says that it has a D2 blade, and I think that the tang stamp on the front is wrong.

Unfortunately, the bay doesn't seem to care about fakes, all too much. Unless the manufacturer made a big deal about it, I doubt they would really do much.

I know your just looking out for your fellow knife enthusiasts but there are proper ways to bring light to yet another fake without breaking the forum rules (no posting live eBay auctions).

There is reason for the madness, Bladeforums results are high up in google searches, what happens when some unknowing sap does a google search for "Caly for sale", sees that link and that its posted on bladeforums so without reading the thread buys it and gets screwed.

You are right. But one probably has to have the real thing side-by-side to see the difference.
I did not look at the description, and could not see the steel on the photo. It does not look like D2 or anything on the blade? It is interesting that on P2 photos I could not see the steel marking at all on the first one in the series, and then they come out very clear on the photo number 3... So the question is: if they sell fake knives, can you really trust them to show pictures of fake knives on e-bay and not the real ones?

Actually, the Replica part was just recently added to the listing's title. It did not have it, earlier.

Adding the word "replica" to the title makes everything OK doesn't it? :grumpy:

At least now he is admitting to breaking the law by selling counterfeit merchandise!

No it doesn't & I wasn't implying otherwise.I was just surprised to see it.

I recently reported some fake PM2's and emailed Spyderco about them and ebay actually removed the items. I was shocked!

Every counterfeit item I've reported to ebay,they removed.Feels good don't it? :)

Most of them are pretty easy to spot but I recently saw some fake Southards that probably could have fooled me they even had the ball bearing pivot.

I know you provided the link for the sake of discussion but it's still considered "deal spotting" and against the rules.
