There is a thread going on The Good, The Bad, The Ugly! about a site that is selling fake knives, (probably) linked to a member here on this forum.

This site, www.10203.com also sells Kershaws and Ken Onions.
I haven't got enough experience with Kershaws to be able to comment about these knives,
so I'm asking the question to the people here that know a lot more about these knives than I do: Are those Kershaw knives original ones, or not?

If they are original(I hope so), well, then there is no problem, and we can move on. If they really are fake, this looks bad IMO.
Fake knives can give a company a bad reputation if the owner doesn't know they are fake.
I hope this turns about to be nothing at all.

looks real to me. cant really read anything considering that i dont speak japanese or w/e the language on the site is

The Chinese site seems to be legit, at least in pricing :). Spec Bumps are 1480 ($211 US)
and the Ken Onion is 18500 ($2638 US)

yikes

The forum member accused of running that site has posted to the GB&U thread. He says that he does not run the site, but is friends with the guy who does. He also says that the site owner does indeed sell fakes.

buckabee, did this thread here in the Kershaw forum stem from the thread that kiahs speaks of in the GB&U forum? i know that you are concerned about the guys at Kershaw, but let the overall purpose take place over in GB&U where it can warn more people. just my opinion, although, like the others, those Kershaws sure look real to me.

The thread in the GB&U was first.
When I was reading the GB&U-thread, and looked at the Kershaws sold on that site, I was wondering if they were fake like the other things on that site that were said to be fake. So I thought I would ask it to people with more experience with those knives.
But I must admit I was a bit drunk when I came home yesterday evening, so I didn't use my full senses when posting here.
Probably wouldn't have done it normally.
Sorry.

Are there fake Kershaw knives in the marketplace? I want to know so i dont get ripped on my next purchase. Also is there a sure way to authenticate a Kershaw knife?

...There are fake "EVERYTHING" in the marketplace lawnspic. The Kershaws I have I've purchased from two (2) places...members of this forum or Blade Forums in general and reputable online stores like New Graham or Dante's or One Stop Knife Shop. All of these folks and stores have great reputations and back them up with being great sellers who wait til you're happy with the sale and in the case of the stores, they back it up with great customer service. When using Ebay just be aware that unless you KNOW who you're buyin' from , you're at the seller's mercy more or less...Try BF's For Sale forum and any of the great online stores I've mentioned...

I came across a bunch of "fake Kershaws" yesterday at a gun & knife show. They weren't advertised as being Kershaws or Ken Onions, but they were obvious copies of Chives and Leeks, and they were just as obviously poor knock-offs. The biggest single give-away was that you're not going to find a new, genuine Kershaw Leek for $6.

I just hope we wont have to post pics or start a boot or not a boot thread. I purchased my First Kershaw (Speedbump) on Ebay from a good seller (whitemountainknives). He was just starting out and now has alot of good feed since. That was a good purchase, but dont want to run into trouble later with unknown sellers. The big boys on the net are good but Ebay has a price advantage on some knives for sure.

I quess if there is a market there will be boots like you said. I quess we all have to cautious in the future. I still would love to see a Kershaw fake is it does exist just for reference.
