Silly me. I found a fake mini #3. I know some people collect these. Can you guys tell me who?? Thanks, Rich

Widmn, If you're over in Tampa on weekdays, bring the knife by the shop and I'll take a look at it for you. Maybe I can tell you about it. You can have the knife authenticated by the RMK shop. All of the modern minis have a computer chip imbeded in the handle that can be read by a special wand over at the shop in Orlando. Greg

I'm pretty sure it isn't real. Jason Randall saw it at the Orlando show and as much as said so. ITs a black micarta #3 with gray spacers and not stainless. The carbon pretty much makes it a fake because I understand that all minis were stainless. Its not a mimic of the newer #3s but of an older knife. ITs pretty nice looking though. I sent Rhett a picture. Don't know if he got it. Thanks, Rich

Hello,
I saw that knife for sale on another auction site. I think Gunbroker.
It is a good looking knife. I was told by a Randall dealer that many of these had been made in the past by the guys working at Randall. Unfortunately there is no way to tell if it went out the back door of Randall or out of someones garage. If it is stamped Randall it still has a value, just not an outrageous value. It is one thing to have a
guy at Randall make a small version of a certain model, I think it is
something different for someone to buy, let's say a 2-5, and regrind it to look like a mini and sell it as something special.
Thanks, Dan
