eBay purchase...Box did not match knife...I thought color was off-shade. So, I told the eBay seller I wanted to return the knife. He freaked and gave me a full refund and told me I could keep the knife. Then...well...I started looking seriously at the knife and it's bugging the SH*T out of me. I can't see anything wrong with it either.

The seller refunded you and let you keep the knife? That's kind of fishy. I had that happen to me recently, but it was a 16 dollar Kershaw (wanted an injection 3.5, got a starter with a pack of cards...)

Maybe just use it and see if it holds up OK? If it falls apart, send it to benchmade and see what they say. At least you'll get use out if it!

Yes...I thought about sending it to BM...they have one of mine now for warranty.

No loss on my part. They can fix the "grind"...or keep it for their waste basket.

Scratch that...my wife "acquired" the knife for her handbag...the positive is I get my Mini Barrage back in my inventory.

I responded in the other section to you, but your Bugout is the real deal. The pocket clip mounts are black. All of the fakes I have seen, have silver ones. There are also some other indicators that authenticate it for me. You my friend got a free GRY-1 Bugout.

The boxes on fakes are typically very shiny. There is a clear difference between a fake box and the real deal... but the knife looks legit to me.
An eBay seller accepting a return is never proof a knife is a fake. People are deathly afraid of negative reviews from buyers so many would refund your money regardless.

Edited to add: If you find out the knife is legit, the right thing to do is give the money back or return the knife.

The way I read it, the authenticity of the box was not in question, just not the right box for the knife. On an authentic knife, and depending on the volume of the seller, it is a little odd to issue a refund no return on a relatively expensive knife. I do agree though, if the OP thinks it is authentic now, he should pay for it.
