Fake or Real Ontario Spec Plus SP10 Marine Raider ?

Hello :)

From a private seller on ebay I bought a new Ontario Marine Raider SP10 without box.

After receiving the knife I noticed that the words

Spec Plus
Raider Bowie
SP-10

and

Ontario
USA

are printed on the blade like on the Ontario Spec Plus Gen II knives.

The words are not stamped on the blade as can be seen on the official Ontario website and well-known knife online shops.

Is it a new version or did I buy a fake knife :confused:

We're going to be updating a lot of pictures in the near future due to this - we recently changed to laser engraving. That's what you're seeing there. Looks like a Raider to me.

Thanks for your information about the laser engraving on the new Spec Plus knives.

My SP10 Marine Raider looks exactly like the knife in the http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1235594-The-Ontario-Raider-Bowie-The-Legend-Begins thread. It's a really great knife :thumbup:

Too late ;) OntarioKnifeCompany has already confirmed that my knife is a real Ontario SP10 knife :D

The SP-10 is really a great versatile heavy hunk of 1095!

Every time I think of getting Becker BK I see my SP-10 and end up getting another OKC knife.
 
This knife is probably the best Bowie for the money. Heavy, tough, super high quality and to top it off beautiful .. Love mine, so absolutely badass.
 
wow! the finishing and clean grinds on that photographed knife
is amazingly good.
QC has improved a fair bit from what i see.
a nice choice for just about everything,
 
I have 3 SP10s, I really love the knife ,but i hope OKC will make it better grinded in future , or make sp10 Gen2 instead.

Gen 2 SP10... I could go for some 5160 in a Raider Bowie :)

Our QC department was recently expanded, and they are doing a fantastic job. I'll pass along that their efforts have been noticed outside of the company. That will mean the world to them.

yes! this would be a step in the right direction.
out of the box delivered products
which looks tidy and flawless in execution
would create good customer impression
and overall positive confidence in a brand.
if the okc crew just keeps this up long enough,
victorinox could be the old QC yard stick for production knives.
