Don’t be fooled! Although it doesn't say "Chris Reeve" or "Sebenza" anywhere on the knife it appears to be a little similar to a Sebbie -- can you smell the sarcasm? Check out eBay item 170406488167 .

Wow. Not just the Sebenza either.

In his Ebay store he has Benchmade, Emerson, Spyderco, Kershaw, Extreme Ratio designs...etc.

But I guess since he isn't selling them AS those brands he's good to go??

I wonder about design infringement...

Either way...it's scumbag retail.:thumbdn:

Nothing like good ole sleezbay right out of china! The damascus blade looks like either spilled milk or someone did it with white out.

that's the best copy/forgery i have seen.

it could easily be mistaken for the real thing, though there are things "wrong" with it.

i would be interested in handling one and comparing the dimensions.

eh somethings give it away, the made in china part, the 200 dollar price. and that is some wonky damascus! also the lack of a pocket clip. unless they were trying to copy an umfaan. but it doesnt really look like one, so definate fake :thumbdn:

If they made some small adjustments that could be passed off as a real CRK until your recieved it.

Wow. This is starting to get weird. They are getting better and better at counterfeits. IIRC, there was an early Seb with inlay that looked just like this - well the handle anyway. Can someone confirm?

Sanrenmu, look out!

Its a nice spot. But to be honest. its not a real scam IMO. It does not say: chris reeve anywhere. Nor does the knife carry the logo. It just looks the same, but it is not listed/branded as a CRK knife.

If it does not say CR, come with papers and Mr. Reeves signature I am not interested thank you.

i wouldn't call it a scam, at least in the sense they are attempting to pass off this item as the genuine article.

however, it is entirely possible that someone less knowledgable than the forumites may purchase this thinking it is a real sebenza.

I have read that the company making these ("Navy") is the same manufacturer Spyderco uses for the Byrd line. Not sure if that is true.

I am new at this knife collecting and have about decided if I can't hold it in my hand I ain't buying it.
