I was just browsing eBay when I came across a "Chris Reeve STYLE 25. It's looks just like a 25 but it has a buy it now price of only $180!!!??? And has D2?!!? I won't post a link because of TOS but its still a damn shame.

Yes, there are also multiple "in the style of Chris Reeve" Mnandis presently on ebay. Truly disgusting.

Yes .... what is really a hoot is that originally, with those knock-off Mnandis the seller photoshop'd the Chris Reeve logo out of the pivot pin cap BUT forgot to take it out of the reflection on the black shiny backdrop! Bingo, gave me a reason to report it as trademark/copyright infringement!) Next day, pic was re-edited to also remove the CRK logo in the reflection! Damn lowlifes!

You know personally I can live with someone making a knock off and selling it for $15 or $20 bucks, but charging $180 to some uninformed buyer who thinks they're getting a deal is a scam, smh :/

Truely disgusting. I don't think I would have purchased my recently acquired used large classic from ebay had o know that the fakes were getting so good.

Has anyone seen/heard of any fake classics? I'm worried now. Lol

Yep, it sure didn't take long for Chris' newest design to be ripped off.

I saw that yesterday.
I can't believe its still up.
Reporting these to ebay apparantly does little good. Maybe if all of us report it they will take it down.

It has been made clear time and again that ebay couldn't care less about fake stuff being sold there. I don't even bother looking on any more, they are not the sort of people I want to give any money to at all. :thumbdn:

Me, too. Just too risky.

I agree. eBay just wants to make money.

I was under the impression that the fakes would be easy to spot but, they have definitely upped their game.
I buy from that site quite often but I think I'll lay off for a while. I just got a user from there too:( hope she's authentic. Lol

When I buy new knives I check the makers site for a list of authorized dealers. I then buy from one of those. Too risky these days with all the people looking to make a buck and fakes getting good quickly. Tough too tell sometimes from pictures. Better safe than sorry.

Believe me. I wouldn't have purchased from eBay had I known the fakes were getting so good. And of course, all of them are still up for sale. Damn shame.

I have a thread about this with pictures on it, I don't know if you've seen it.
It seems this problem is growing really fast, they even have small regulars now. As long as sites as ebay continue to let this happen( and they will) people will continue to screw up respectable hard working people like CRK.

I had just realized that a few days after staring mine:/ and I agree. That site will likely not change. The only thing I can do is not give my money to them anymore.

It says CRK "style" and "type", says that it is a clone, and is less than half the normal price. Anyone who thinks it's real is an idiot.

I agree it's unethical to simply copy proprietary designs. As long as they are not improperly marked and don't pass them off as the real thing, eBay rules are not being broken. Unless the manufacturers themselves make a stink on eBay, they will let these listings stand. It's not clear to me why CRK, Strider and Hinderer (and I assume others) don't put in the effort. I have no doubt they could stop this if they really tried.

That being said, I do see clones from time to time that carry the logos or false manufacturer's name. These can be reported and eBay will take them down. You have to be persistent though as the seller usually waits a day or two and re-lists.
