Fake SOG Recon Government?

My buddy recently showed me some of his vintage SOG knives. All original Desert Dagger, Pentagon, and Recon Government made in Seki Japan. One thing looked off to me though, the Recon Government was partially serrated. Ive never seen one nor has google been able to show anything on a partially serrated Recon Government. Was it an extremely rare production run? Or is it a fake? The serrations looked like the kind found on a Desert Dagger and not like the normal 2 small and 1 large scalloped serrations that are more in use today. The knife looked real, but im no expert. It was etched Seki Japan and had a flat head pommel screw like the old SOGs used to have. Any ideas? Sorry, I cant take pictures since its not my knife.

Well they’re not real common knives to find. Can’t say I’m an expert on them but honestly the only ones I’ve seen came with out serrations. Does this one have a gun-blued finish?

Yeah, it has a gun blued finish and looks just like this picture but with about 1 1/2" of serrations.

hmmm, I don't think I've ever seen one with serrations.

could be fake, or could be a previous owner adding serrations ??
-- years ago a pal of mine took my genuine SOG Recondo and removed the serrations and tanto. So mods certainly can be done to the genuine article.
