How can I tell if a fixed Strider DB is fake ? I noticed that the USA stamping is marked: U.S.A. I thought I read that if it has the periods after each letter it is fake. Is there any other ways to notice a fake DB ?

Did you buy it directly or from a reputable dealer?

Or did you buy it from one of companies that sells counterfeits? Alibaba, Amazon, et al...

I have been reading different posts about the authenticity of genuine Striders vs copies. I’ve read everything from 5 wings on logo to 7 wings and USA stampings. I thought I would get advice from collectors that might know. But from what I have seen, it appears that even genuine Striders vary from generation to generation. No pictures, just doing research online from what I’m reading and seeing.

Have not purchased - just want to make sure I know what I’m looking for in the chance I do find one that catches my eye. I have an SMF that I have had for years, but my only one.

I can't and won't speak for everyone.

You are on your own.

Bladeforums has a well searched and used history concerning Strider. Check it out.

May be take your search to YouTube et al. Edgedmind Set has a lot of Strider content. Though, I would pay more attention to his Emerson content, if you were so inclined toward a more credible knifemaker.
