I know what everone is thinking, not another is my knife fake thread. I have tried on several occasions to contact Strider, but I haven't had any luck there. So I'm turning to you guys in hope that you can help me out. I acquired this knife from a friend who sold me his collection a while back and for some reason it just doesn't seem legit? Anyway here is the knife, please let me know what you think.

Not a fake at all, it's the real deal. It's an earlier version SnG before the heat treat was done in house.
The stamps will vary with different batches/lots being produced.
The flame Ti is in line with that generation of Strider.
But, if you absolutely feel it's a fake, you can send it to me and I'll make sure it's disposed of properly. :) Just saying.

Thanks for the info. I've never owned a strider so I wasn't too sure. I will certainly let you dispose of it... for a price.

I agree, looks like and older version. The stainless screws is the only thing that looks off to me, but it may just be a glare.

It's got the Bos heat treat stamp, i don't know much about Striders at all so I would be interested to know if Paul Bos used to do all Strider knives heat treat and does he still treat all new Striders?

Paul used to do all Striders heat treat, he eventually sold them his formula so to speak and they do it in house now.

I know a clone when I see one!!!! I looked close at your pictures with a magnifying glass. You have the real deal. But always keep your eyes open for clones. You want a clone, buy as a clone but don't get ripped off. I recently saw a friends Medford Praetorian and it was an exact clone. The difference is looking close up and the clone is solid stainless steel. Much heavier then Titanium. Those Chinese are getting real good with there clones so beware!!!

I've always heard the Strider fakes are really good unfortunately. I got rid of my SnG awhile back, and for some reason now am wanting another..this time in a CC configuration. So what exactly are the tell-tale signs of a fake?

It's really quite easy to determine a fake. Check for fit and finish, blade wobble and lock stick. If all are perfect it's probably a fake. :)

I lol'd.

That being said. I never had issues with the five Striders I previously owned (2 SMFs, 2 SnGs, and a PT).
