I was just browsing "evilBay" and came across this:

...

fake scrapyards0.jpg

fake scrapyards1.jpg

These aren't older legit SYKCO's are they?

I figure they're either bootlegged or at the very least the seller would be wise to change his title listing?

You might want to remove the link and the name of the site you found them on. Neither are permitted.

Referring to it as evilbay or "that auction site" is usually permissible.

If sykco stands for "sh!tty yucky krappy crumby, oreos?", yes they are sykcos, but they aint Scrap Yard Knives.

Probably a relatively innocent mistake. Guy probably thinks "sykco" is a cool name and doesn't know it's actually a real knife brand.

Ya i'm betting that's the case. The blades themselves don't look like he was trying to trick anyone by copying swamprat designs.

I am a novice knife maker and even I feel that is a sad grind line. I do better than that on a bad day.

I'm thinking maybe give the guy a break. He'll figure out the mistake and I'm sure correct it. Then probably find his way here and read this. Eventually he'll figure out how great Busse and Kin are and it all comes full circle. yada yada ect.

Yes I agree. He mentions in his add the pieces are from the junk in his yard or something like that. From the work, looks like someone trying to make a few extra bucks. Doubt anyone would think it otherwise if seeing the whole thing. I looked it over pretty good and I think it will change eventually.

actually the ad changed. So it is fine now.

Who cares?

It matters if you are a consumer who thinks he is buying a product from a certain manufacturer, then it fails or is of such subpar quality that consumer thinks all scrapyard knives are junk and spreads the word to all he knows.

I've seen a lot of these threads on here over the years with the counterfeit knives.

What does eBay do about it? Do they just take the auctions down?
