Just joined the forums and am brand new to emersons. Been hearing alot about fakes on ebay and am wondering how a person can determine real emersons from fake ones, both before the sale and after your new "emerson" arrives. Bought mine from Action Concepts, who claim to be a factory authorized dealer. My Horseman came in an authentic looking box with model name on end flap, and a warranty registration card inside. I paid $140 with free shipping, so it was decent price but not too good to be true. Thanks for your info for this newbie.

Hello! and welcome to the Forums :) My answer is if you buy your knives on Ebay and from Action Concepts ( James Marsh :D ) I'm congrats you sir. He's an Emerson authorized dealer.I don't know him personally but I also bought my Emerson knives from him too.So you don't have to be worried that your knive is FAKE.
I hope this help.

I agree. I've bought multiple Emersons from Action Concepts and a few Rats from him as well, all are authentic. You may pay a few bucks extra with Mr. Marsh, but the service is top notch and he always has an impressive array of new Emersons:thumbup:

Finding fake Emerson knife clones is so much fun!!!!
There are many varieties, mostly clones of the 2000 Commander and no name Karambits. Every one of them copies the wave feature and none of them the Emerson internal ball bearing stop.
Emerson has 2 great patents, the Wave and an improved linerlock feature.
I wonder why these knife makers would steal designs from mainline makers when they can make such good cheap knives.

Got my CQC-13 today from Action Concepts as well, excellent service.

I would say he's the most reliable Emerson dealer right now with lots of stock and newest production dates.
