Falcata - Smaller Version?

I really like the Falcata blade but the overall weight is just too much. Is there a possibility of talking someone into making a smaller lighter version of the Falcata with a perhaps a standard Khuk grip and scabbard?

Wouldn't that BE a khukuri, then? Looking at my falcata, at least, the blade really is a khukuri blade, having the khuk's blade geometry. The only thing really "falcata" about it is the hilt...
